Enrolled on 8\2\07, certified on 9\18\07, expires on 9\18\10 - my CCNA - For Shane (2011 - in 2010 I did a CCNA Security to renew my CCNA phew!).

I passed the CCNA

where CCNA is in terms of CCIE

I'm really looking forward to this exam. The official Cisco CCNA books are superbly written and after doing the MCDBA:70-291, this is a nice expansion on the knowledge of Networks for me.

I have since changed my view on the CCNA Self Study Cisco Books (they ultimately are bad, buy a more condensed book!)

Also, unless you have access to some serious hardware, the best choice is a simulator. There is a very good one, that will do the job perfectly: [[CCNA:Cisco_Simulator]]

I was given the approximation that it takes about 96 hours to study for the CCNA. www.certificationist.com/content/view/28/41/ Which in my mind, is a realistic enough assessment. My total study time has been 1. February, 10th 6 Hours Reading Cisco Press INTRO
2. February, 11th 5 Hours Reading Cisco Press INCD
3. April, 26th 12 Hours Bryant Advantage / Testking
4. April, 27th 12 Hours Bryant Advantage / Testking

At this point, I have a good overall understanding of all the protocols and concepts. My failing at this point, is with actual configuration, subnet math and the finer details when it comes to scenarios. ie. RIP with EIGRP, STP.

Which translates into simple practice at this point.

1. May, 7th 8 Hours Testking, picking specific topics
2. May, 10th 4 Hours Testking, picking specific topics
3. May, 11th 8 Hours CertKiller, more accurate exam topics
4. June, 5th 8 Hours CertKiller, Bryant Advantage

Something that I''ve found on Slashdot

"....But do it this way: Read the INTRO book. Take the exam right away.
If you don''t pass, flip through the ICND book and find the areas that
you actually need to work on. You''ll save months of study time that
could be better spent working on your CCNP."
